One effective tool in the fight against materials theft is a policy requiring a seller to present identification. If your facility has such a policy, ISRI wants to help you get the message across.

ISRI, in partnership with the National Crime Prevention Council, has designed this sign featuring McGruff the Crime DogŪ for members to display.

Making the design available allows you to work with your local printing shop to create the type of sign that works best for your facility and quickly put it to use. It is in a professional file format that lets you and your professional printer design a quality sign for any space, whether in a window at your weigh station or on a large wooden sign at your gate.

Get a sign that best suits your facility in a few easy steps:

  1. Choose the sign format (your printing shop can help you decide):
    • Outdoor sign on metal
    • Poster size on board
    • Window cling
    • Decal for your register
    • Indoor or outdoor banner
    • Or any format your printing shop can produce
  2. Direct your printing shop to this link and they can access the special format file (.EPS). DO NOT try to open this on your computer - your print shop has the systems to handle files of this type and size.
  3. Post the sign near an entrance or where transactions take place to show your commitment to minimizing the likelihood of purchasing stolen material. Clearly posting the sign will also suggest to criminals that you take a hard look at suspicious transactions.
  4. ISRI is commited to helping members do their part to combat the materials theft problem. For more resources, visit www.isri.org/theftalert.
